Dumpster Day events are for HOA members only (those who have paid their annual dues). They are held twice a year at Chaucer Park on a Saturday, from 8am to noon, or until the dumpsters are full. We typically hold one in June and the other in mid to late September. Check the Canterbury Events Calendar for this year’s event dates.
We cannot accept electronics, appliances, concrete, rock, dirt, large tree stumps, paint, liquids, medical waste, or any hazardous or flammable materials. You can check with stores where electronics are sold to see if they will recycle your electronics. Check with your trash company to see if they will pick up your appliances.
Once in awhile there is a free Paint Recycling event held at the same time as Dumpster Day, both at Chaucer Park. Information on Paint Recycling events will be included in the monthly newsletter prior to the event date. Paint Recycling events, when held, are open to all Canterbury residents, not just HOA members. In the interim, check with local paint stores as many of them will accept paint for recycling at no cost to you.
As a reminder, the use of the dumpsters is only for those who have paid the annual HOA dues. But it’s never too late! If you haven’t paid by the date of the event, you can bring a check with you and pay when you check in. Or you can pay online one week prior to the event date.
